Services

Seven services that we combine based on your assessment, from hands-on treatment to strength testing before you return to sport.

Physiotherapy

With hands-on treatment, targeted exercises and a home exercise plan. For pain and restricted movement.

Who it’s for

For people with acute or recurring pain and restricted movement in the back, neck, shoulder, hip, knee or foot, including after an injury.

What to expect

We start with a thorough assessment: we talk about your symptoms, your daily life and your goals, and look closely at how you move. We then put your treatment plan together.

What’s included

  • Assessment and movement analysis
  • Therapeutic exercise with targeted work on mobility, strength and coordination
  • Manual techniques to mobilise joints and soft tissue
  • Home exercise programme, tailored to your daily routine

Your goal

Move more freely in everyday life, at work and in sport, and know what you can do yourself to help.

Manual therapy

Targeted hands-on techniques for joints, spine and muscles when movement is blocked or painful. Hands-on techniques for stiff joints.

Who it’s for

For patients with restricted mobility or pain originating from the joints, spine or surrounding muscles, for example with back and neck problems or after a long period of immobilisation.

What to expect

Manual therapy begins with a precise examination: we assess individual joints, their mobility and how they work together in movement. This helps narrow down where a restriction originates.

What’s included

  • Functional examination of joints and spine
  • Mobilisation of restricted joints
  • Treatment of muscles and soft tissue
  • Exercises that support the treatment outcome in daily life

Your goal

More mobility, fewer restrictions in your movement and a better understanding of how to take strain off your joints in everyday life.

Sports physiotherapy

Treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries, all the way back to training and competition. From injury back to your sport.

Who it’s for

For athletes from recreational to elite level: after an acute injury, with overuse problems or after surgery, for example in the knee, hip or shoulder.

What to expect

Sports physiotherapy combines treatment with load management. We look not only at the injury but also at the demands of your sport: movements, speed, changes of direction and training volume.

What’s included

  • Acute care and rehabilitation of sports injuries
  • Load management tailored to your sport
  • Sport-specific reconditioning
  • Structured return-to-sport process with performance testing

Your goal

A step-by-step return to training and competition, with the capacity your sport demands.

Sports osteopathy

Gentle manual techniques that treat joints, muscles, fascia and organs as one system. Tailored to the demands of sport. Gentle techniques for the whole body.

Who it’s for

For athletes with recurring problems, restricted movement or tension where the cause isn’t necessarily where it hurts. Also as a complement to physiotherapy.

What to expect

We assess posture, mobility and tension throughout the body and look for connections, for example between the pelvis, spine and shoulder. Treatment is hands-on: gentle, targeted and tailored to your sport.

What’s included

  • Assessment of posture, mobility and tension patterns
  • Gentle techniques for joints, muscles and fascia
  • Addressing links between areas, e.g. pelvis, spine and shoulder
  • Easy to combine with physiotherapy and training

Your goal

Better mobility and less tension throughout the body, so you can move freely in training again and spread load more evenly.

Exercise therapy / gym-based rehabilitation

Targeted strength and movement training in our training area for more resilience in daily life and sport. Build strength and resilience.

Who it’s for

For anyone who needs to rebuild strength after an injury, surgery or a longer break, and for athletes who want to specifically improve their load capacity.

What to expect

Exercise therapy takes place in our training area, straight after your treatment. We create a training plan based on your assessment and your goal, and guide you through every exercise.

What’s included

  • Individual training plan based on your findings
  • Strength training with machines and free weights
  • Functional training for stability and coordination
  • Guidance so you can train independently

Your goal

Build strength, stability and performance for the long term, so your body can handle the demands of daily life and sport.

Personal training

One-to-one training in our training area, with a clear plan and personal coaching. One-to-one training with a clear plan.

Who it’s for

For anyone who wants to train with purpose and personal coaching: regardless of injury, as a follow-up to therapy or in preparation for an athletic goal.

What to expect

We start by clarifying your goals and your current level. Building on this, we design a programme that we work through together in every session and adjust as you progress.

What’s included

  • Training plans built around your goals
  • Personal coaching in every session
  • Strength, athletic and functional training
  • Regular adjustments to your progress

Your goal

Reach your goals step by step, with training that fits your body and your life.

Biomechanical functional assessment

Strength, mobility and movement quality measured objectively. The results form the basis for therapy and training. Strength and mobility, measured objectively.

Who it’s for

For athletes before a new season or training goal, for people who want to check where they stand after an injury, and for anyone who wants to know their physical baseline.

What to expect

We assess mobility, strength, stability and movement quality using standardised tests. We then discuss the results with you and put them into context.

What’s included

  • Analysis of mobility and movement patterns
  • Tests of strength, stability and performance
  • Measuring differences between left and right and deficits
  • Concrete recommendations for training and therapy

Your goal

A clear picture of where you stand and practical recommendations to guide your training and therapy.

Fees and billing

Physio & Performance is a private practice. Here’s how billing works.

Privately insured patients

Invoice after treatment, which you submit to your insurer.

You will need a private prescription (Privatrezept) for physiotherapy from your doctor. After your treatment you receive an invoice, which you can pay conveniently by bank transfer and submit to your private health insurer. How much is reimbursed depends on your plan.

Civil servants with Beihilfe

For civil servants entitled to government healthcare allowance (Beihilfe).

Beihilfe is an allowance that civil servants receive from their employer towards medical costs. The remaining share is usually covered by private health insurance.

You will need a private prescription (Privatrezept) for physiotherapy from your doctor. After your treatment you receive an invoice, which you can pay conveniently by bank transfer and submit to the Beihilfe office and your health insurer.

Self-pay patients

If you pay for your treatment yourself.

Fees depend on the service and the length of the session. We are happy to tell you the current prices in advance by phone, by email or when you book.

You receive the invoice after your treatment and can pay it conveniently by bank transfer.

Frequently asked questions

Can’t find your question? Call us on +49 171 1106273 or email info@physioundperformance.de.

Which conditions do you treat?

We treat sports injuries, rehab after surgery and everyday or work-related problems. Typical examples are problems with the knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, back or neck. We treat athletes as well as people with no sporting background. We increase the load in clear steps and use strength and movement tests to decide when you’re ready to return to your sport.

How do I book an appointment?

The quickest way is to book online via Doctolib, where you can see all available slots. Alternatively, call us on +49 171 1106273 or email info@physioundperformance.de. Doctors who would like to refer a patient can reach us the same way.

How do I get to the practice?

The easiest way is by tram: lines 27 and 28 stop at Ottostraße, about a 3-minute walk from the practice at Ottostraße 11 (3rd floor). Take the S-Bahn, U4 or U5 to Karlsplatz (Stachus), then it is about a 7-minute walk across Lenbachplatz into Ottostraße. Trams 19 and 21 stop at Lenbachplatz, about a 4-minute walk. From Odeonsplatz (U3 and U6) it is about a 9-minute walk. Parking in the city centre is limited, so we recommend coming by public transport.

Do I need a prescription?

Only if you want to claim through private health insurance or Beihilfe, in which case you need a private prescription (Privatrezept) for physiotherapy from your doctor. You don’t need a prescription for personal training or exercise therapy without physiotherapy treatment.

How does billing work?

As a private practice, we treat privately insured patients, Beihilfe recipients and self-pay patients. You receive an invoice after your treatment and pay it by bank transfer. Patients with public (statutory) health insurance are very welcome to pay for treatment themselves, and if you have supplementary insurance that covers physiotherapy, you can submit the invoice to them. We are happy to tell you the current prices in advance; see “Fees and billing”.

What happens at my first appointment?

At your first appointment we take time for a thorough assessment: we talk about your symptoms and goals and look at how you move. Please bring your doctor’s prescription (if you have one), any medical reports or surgery notes and comfortable clothing. The session length is shown when you book via Doctolib. We discuss how many sessions make sense after the initial assessment.

Is treatment available in English?

Yes, treatment is available in English, from the initial assessment through to your exercise programme.
